In our civilized world humans` relationship to nature is divided.
On the one hand it is characterized by an indefinite vague indefinable sense of loss, which fills people's idea of nature with a certain kind of longing.

At the same time nature is being used and exploited by men. In Germany one cannot find a piece of untouched nature in the sense of being free from human influence.

There are many romantic clichés associated with nature which remain unfulfilled, as our idea of nature only function as a projection surface and nature itself is something unknown. This ambiguous relationship is of interest in my work.

I could find this sense of alienation and emptiness in photographs taken at night.
